The Design Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day designing and engineering activities, develop models and provide a safe, workable and cost-effective design for the construction of buildings, industrial plans.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze various factors and ensure correct quantity and price calculations involved in steel structural design
- Generate project specification, design philosophy, calculation template to comply with customers’ requirement and local authority’s requirements
- Prepare structural calculation sheets, from simple to more complicated items, in accordance to project specifications, criteria and information
- Ensure correct and accurate calculations of loads and member sizes of structures
- Prepare design drawings for structures
- Support business/channel partners in all aspect of design-related matters, and provide technical expertise to them in resolving fabrication, installation or site complications
- Work with sales and proposal team to produce AutoCAD drawings during the proposal stage of construction projects and finalize the drawings to be used for actual jobsites
- Verify technical drawings from Detail Engineering team to ensure the drawings are comply to project information from customers’ and internal Design Engineers
- Attend various meetings with the Sales team and coordinate with other relevant departments concerned consistent with the project proposal plans and schedules
- Perform, other than all the above, whatever duties entrusted by the Country General Manager in respect of the design related activities
Skill Competencies and Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent
- Must have experience as Design Engineer in PEB company at least 3 years or design steel structure/buildings (non-PEB) at least 5 years.
- Extensive knowledge of products, designs, manufacturing processes and procedures
- Knowledge of international design codes
- Independent and organized, with positive work attitude
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and design software (e.g. STAAD.Pro and CFS)
