Today, there is growing understanding of the advantages of pre-engineered steel buildings in southeast Asia and it is increasingly the choice for low-rise industrial buildings.

We have also witnessed a rise in interest in pre-engineered steel building solution for multistorey mid-rise buildings of 5 to 10 storeys in southeast Asia. While the cost of the structural frame increases as the building reaches higher, and it depends greatly on the ground condition, the primary consideration is additional space without taking up more square footage which could otherwise means acquiring more land.

In Europe and the Middle East, pre-engineered multistorey steel structures are widely used for industrial, commercial and even residential buildings. From multi-level car parks, metro stations and other public amenities, to airports and high-rise commercial buildings such as office towers and hotels, these buildings are made fire resistant by various treatments such as intumescent paint, vermiculite spray and also column encasing.

These pre-engineered multistorey steel buildings offer wider spaces over a lighter foundation, as well as a true palette of architectural solutions in terms of appearance, roof shapes and façade dressings other than steel claddings (example stone, brick, terracotta, wood and glass).
